Celebrating a New Chapter

Today marks a remarkable milestone for The Great Room by Industrious. 

Our parent company, Industrious, has been acquired by CBRE, the world’s largest commercial real estate firm and our biggest investor. You may have seen the news this morning, and I’m thrilled to share what this means for all of us.

Eight years ago, The Great Room started as a single location at One George Street in Singapore, built on a simple yet transformative idea: flexible work wasn’t just the future—it would completely redefine how people and companies connect with their workspaces.  From Day 1, the heart and soul of The Great Room has been defined by our love of great design, warmth and hospitality, and our one-of-a-kind vibrant community.  We made it our business to make Mondays electric with our Monday Breakfast Club and Turndown Carts. We are secretly proud of how people try to sneak into our Great Thirstdays because of the great company they find themselves in. And don’t get us started on our frequent panels of power brokers and gorgeous holiday parties.

In 2022, Industrious acquired The Great Room as their APAC arm of the business. Since then, Industrious has expanded to over 200 locations in 65+ cities, including The Great Room’s footprint in Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Sydney. This acquisition by CBRE is a powerful testament to everything we’ve built together — and an exciting chapter for all of us.

We are excited to bring The Great Room to even more cities you want to be in. We will continue to grow as a company, innovate, expand, move mountains, defy norms, BUT now with a little more weight behind our shoulders. This milestone is not just about growth; it’s about doubling down on what makes The Great Room unique and ensuring you continue to feel proud to be a part of our community.
